Quick actions on a list

Act on a record straight from a row of the record list, and work out why you may not see every action.

Quick actions let you act on a record without opening it. They sit on each row of the record list. The first two appear as buttons on the row, and the rest are in a ⋯ menu at the end of it.

Which actions you see

Two things decide that.

  1. What an org-admin has set up for the record type. A record type can offer as little as one action: Delete, which permanently deletes the record after a confirmation.
  2. What you are allowed to do. Each action is shown only to people allowed to do it, so two people looking at the same list can see a different set of actions on the same row.

The check is made row by row, not once for the whole list. One row can offer fewer actions than the row below it, because what you may do depends on the record as well as on the record type.

When an action you expect is missing

Either it has not been set up for that record type, or you are not allowed to do it on that record. An org-admin can tell you which of the two it is, from the record type's configuration.
